At House of Brands, we pride ourselves on being a leader in branded merchandise across a multitude of domains and industries. From high school athletic teams and small organizations to large nationwide companies, we work diligently to bring our customers the very best in branded merchandise. One of our favorite aspects of this process is working with our partners and customers to help them continue to build their brand. This process is so much more than simply placing a logo on an apparel or promotional item. Developing and maintaining a brand is a long-term project and we are proud to be here to assist this process in every way we can.
This brings us to the central focus of this article; what is the difference between branding and marketing? This is a topic that we will continue to explore in future articles.
We are House of Brands, not House of Marketing. As our website homepage states, we are the Leaders in Branded Merchandise, not the Leaders in Marketing. Why did we choose branding versus marketing? Are they not interchangeable? Is this just a pointless exercise in semantics? No, to us there is an important distinction between branding and marketing.
Don’t get us wrong, marketing is important and is certainly a valuable and needed component of any company’s strategy. However, here at House of Brands, we strongly feel that Branding goes far beyond Marketing. Branding is essential to fostering a relationship with clients that is not only long-lasting but also one that is authentic, transparent, and stands for more than just advertising products.
As Laura Kloot (n.d.) wrote on the Outbrain blog, Branding is much more about who you are versus marketing, which is more about helping to build your brand awareness. While we certainly help you build your brand awareness at House of Brands, we care much more about developing a long-term trusting partnership with you that will in turn carry over to your clients.
When your client views, wears, or uses a product with your logo on it they should be proud of what it stands for, in addition to its aesthetic appeal. We understand this, and while we will without a doubt make your logo look amazing on whatever products you choose, we also understand the importance of what your logo stands for.
Every day, as consumers, we encounter numerous advertisements and marketing campaigns aimed at promoting various products. Like many others, I often find myself choosing the most convenient or cost-effective options; however, this does not always lead to consistent satisfaction with the products we ultimately select.
We consistently rely on brands that have built our trust over time. We are often willing to invest more in products that resonate with our values and align with our expectations of business practices. At House of Brands, our aim is to cultivate the same level of trust for your business. We want your clients to recognize that your logo signifies a commitment to quality in both products and services.
